“If you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above.” God can lift us out of our earthly concerns, renew us in the things of heaven and help us to lead lives that witness to peace and justice. Let us open our hearts to God in prayer, praise and thanksgiving.

Next Sunday is the Norwich 10K Road Race. It shouldn’t affect access to St Giles but some roads may be closed.
Traidcraft will be available next Sunday -thereafter it will be heldevery first Sunday of the month. Traidcraft will also be available over the Heritage weekend and this will include craft items.
We welcome back the St Giles Singers for the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Sunday 14th August. The music is always delightful and this time will include Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Please do come!
Our next Interesting Talk will be on 25 August with Dr Lucy Wrapson, Conservator and Research Associate, Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge University. She recently completed conservation work on the Rood Screen at St Mary’s Church, Elsing (near Dereham).
St Giles Church Fête will be on Saturday 27th August from 11.00am to 3.00pm in the church and grounds. Please do come and enjoy all the stalls and events – super raffle, tasty barbecue, interesting bric-a-brac, cake stall, morning coffee, cream teas and fun stalls. Children’s activities include Bouncy Castle, Tombola and Parachuting Teddies! Absolutely everybody is welcome, please invite all your friends for a really fun day. We need people to help man the stalls especially the Raffle and to relieve at odd times on the other stalls. If you could only manage a couple of hours, that would be great. Please bring in donations of Jewellery, Raffle prizes, good Bric-a-brac, and Cakes, Jams etc. Monetary donations towards ingredients would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Elsie and Pat.
This month’s charity is the Magdalene Group. Take a look at the Charities notice board to find out more. The PCC gives a donation to our chosen charity on behalf of us all. If you would like to make a personal donation then do please put it in the box on the table by the Charity of the Month display board or pass it to the Treasurer.
