Walsingham Healing Pilgrimage is on Monday 27 August in the Shrine Grounds starting at 12 noon with Mass, then at 2.30 pm Sprinkling, Laying-on of Hands and Benediction. (See http://www.walsinghamanglican.org.uk)
The Interesting Talk on Thursday 30 August will be given by Anastasia Moskvina on exploring the archaeological aspects of Anglo-Saxon settlement.
Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 September is the St Giles Patronal Festival weekend. The annual Parish Fete is on Saturday 1 Sept (11-2). Please do bring in any prizes, bric-a-brac and books also cakes on the day, if you can. Jillian is making recycled cards, so please bring in old birthday cards you might have at home. Thank you. The Festival Mass is on Sunday 2 Sept at 10.30am followed by the Fun Auction. Do get involved – speak to Annie, Pat Emsell, Elsie or Rod.
The Norfolk Churches Trust annual cycle ride/walk is on Sat 8th Sept (9-5). Fr Darren has sponsorship forms for anyone who would like to take part in the ride/walk. The money raised is split between the Trust and St Giles. Please do sponsor those taking part!
The Heritage Open Days are from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 September. We need volunteers to keep the church open for both these events. Please sign up on the lists at the back of church.
Our August Charity is the Children’s Society. If you would like to add to the PCC’s donation then do please put it in the box on the table by the Charities board.
The Magazine for July and August is at the back of church for you to take home.
Our Parish Share next year will be £32249. This means that we shall be paying a further £910, an increase of 2.9% over our 2018 Parish Share. Please can I ask you all to consider prayerfully how you can increase your giving next year so that between us we can manage to cover this increase? Thank you! John Baldry
Confirmation The next opportunity for Confirmation will be at Norwich Cathedral in November. If you haven’t been confirmed and are interested then please do have a chat with the Rector, who will be leading confirmation classes this Autumn.
