The Christian Community of St Giles-on-the-Hill
welcomes you to worship with them on
Sunday 25th August 2019
Tenth Sunday after Trinity
We gather from our different backgrounds and circumstances, some of us strong in faith and some holding on by our fingertips. God knows and understands each one of us, and calls us all to new life.
As next Sunday is our Patronal Festival with the fun auction after Mass we will be offering Healing Ministry today instead of next week. Today’s Mass includes the Ministry of Healing, with the anointing of oil. If you wish to receive healing for yourself or for a loved one then please go and sit in the Lady Chapel during the organ voluntary at the end of the Mass.

The Norfolk Churches Trust annual cycle ride/walk is on Sat 14 Sept (9am-5pm) and the Heritage Open Days are from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 September. We need volunteers to keep the church open for both these events. Please sign up on the lists at the back of church today. Fr Darren has sponsorship forms for anyone who would like to take part in the cycle ride/walk. The money raised is split 50:50 between the Trust and St Giles. Please do sponsor those taking part!
Heritage Open Days extra time Although St Giles is only open ‘officially’ for the weekend 13-15 Sept the HODs run from 13-22 September. It is hoped that those who volunteer to keep the church open may be able to offer some extra opening opportunities during this extended period as there may be some more visitors about. Please sign the Churchwardens diary to indicate when you may be able to open the church. Thank you!
Our Harvest Festival Mass is on Sunday 15 September followed by a bring-and-share lunch. Do sign up on the list at the back of church with what you can bring along for the lunch. Thank you!

Please can I ask you all to consider prayerfully how you can increase your giving next year so that between us we can manage to cover this increase? Thank you! John Baldry
Confirmation The next opportunity for Confirmation will be at Norwich Cathedral in November. If you haven’t been confirmed and are interested then please do have a chat with the Rector, who will be leading confirmation classes this Autumn.
